The school is nestled in the Shivaliks, the foothills of the Himalayas. It has roomy classrooms with a view of the mountains, away from the cacophony of traffic on the roads. I could spot birds and monkeys from the windows.

G.S Swami is an 80-year-old, who is as strong as the mountains and as swift and cool as the winds that blow around Dehradun where he lives with his wife. Their two sons and daughter are very settled and live abroad. He is an economist by profession who moved from the South to Bombay at the age of 21. “I stumbled into a becoming a consultant,” says Swami. He went on to make this into a successful career
