The Give Bloggers

The GiveIndia blog is not a one-person show. From April, 2010 we have a team of people who will help to bring diversity to the topics that this blog will talk about. We hope you enjoy it!

Deepa Varadarajan

"After volunteering part-time in the social sector for almost 3 years, what I have realized is that it is not only satisfying to have made a difference to someone; it also benefits you personally as an individual. GiveIndia provides me with a platform to contribute to the social sector in a more meaningful and effective way. What drew me to this organization was its unique two-fold vision of creating a strong culture of giving and ensuring that the most efficient and effective nonprofits get access to the most resources."

Deepa has completed her masters in Electrical & Computer Engineering from Villanova University, PA. Prior to joining GiveIndia, she spent 8 years in the US working in the semiconductor industry. Deepa heads the Projects & Client Services team at GiveIndia. She can be reached at deepa@giveindia.org.

Dhaval Udani
"I have been involved with GiveIndia since 2006. I have met the most committed and passionate people in my time here. The mystique of treating the donors as the customer rather than the NGO drew me into this organization. I am happy to have not only used my skills but have also learnt a fair bit of both ard and soft skills during my time here."

Dhaval, a graduate of IIM-A, was volunterering with GiveIndia while he worked as a management consultant in a leading global consultancy firm . He is eternally grateful to Aarti (the brilliant volunteer recruiter!) to have introduced him to this wonderful organization. Having now come on board full time, he helps with technology infrastructure, business processes and heads the Internet Giving fundraising team. He can be reached at dhaval@giveindia.org.

Shashi Bhushan Singh
"The big question after my studies and years of serving capitalist giants was will I spend my life selling shampoos and cola drinks or is there something else I can do that will give more meaning to my existence and more satisfaction to my penny earning activity. GiveIndia was an appropriate option where I had an opportunity to use my skills to contribute to a sector which unlike others, is not trying to exploit humanity but serve it."

Shashi Bhushan is an Electronics & Communication engineer from IPS Academy, Indore and holds PGDM in Communication & Entrepreneurship from MICA, Ahmedabad. He worked for around 3 years at Qualcore Logic & Synopsys India in VLSI and EDA industry before realizing the need to pursue a full time career in social sector.  At GiveIndia, he looks after Marketing Communications and donor relationships in Payroll Giving Team and can be reached at s.shashibhushan@gmail.com.

Sriram Hariharan
"Many issues that impact the life of Indians across all socio-economic profiles today are beyond the wealth of the individual – poverty, terrorism, poor civic amenities like water, electricity, roads etc. These cannot be solved by the individual alone earning a little more, but through larger association with society.  As human beings, I believe we are passionate about something and are ready to go the extra mile for that. I hope I can help you to identify and contribute to that issue closer to your heart and contribute. Until then, I will keep doing what I am connected to - "Creating awareness".

Sriram is a middle management professional with more than 12 years experience in diverse business and technology engagements in India and US. He believes his corporate career was made possible thanks to subsidized quality education in premier academic institutions - BITS Pilani and IIM Calcutta. His social activities is focused on improving public awareness on various developmental issues. As a volunteer at GiveIndia, he contributes to the blog by writing on education.  He can be reached at sriram.hariharan@gmail.com
