We are so glad to share with you that one of our listed NGOs - The Akshaya Patra Foundation - has been named one of the Top 100 NGOs in the world by The Global Journal in its 2013 edition of the Top 100 NGOs’ Annual Ranking.

The Global Journal is a unique content media platform providing in-depth coverage of global governance issues. With a newsroom is located in the vicinity of UN Headquarters in Geneva, the journal has its largest audience in North America, Europe and India. The magazine, published every two months, can be found online and in newsstands as a paid-for content media. In evaluating NGOs for this recognition, The Global Journal considered a pool of approximately 450 NGOs this year based on three key criteria: impact, innovation and sustainability.
The Akshaya Patra Foundation (TAPF)was ranked 23rd among all categories and No 1 in the world in Children. TAPF is a GiveIndia certified NGO, having met all norms of transparency and credibility. The NGO came into being in the year 2000 to address two of the most immediate challenges of India - hunger and education by providing unlimited, wholesome food to attract children to schools, retain them and then focus on their holistic development.  A one-man initiative, it started with feeding 1500 school children in Bangalore and expanded to over 1 million children in 9 years.

Not just this, very recently the TAPF team gave us another good news of having received Gold Shield for excellence in Financial reporting from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India ( ICAI ). This was for a fourth time in row!

We dearly congratulate the TAPF team at the two whammies in a row and wish them the very best. Thank you to all of our donors too, for encouraging TAPF move closer to its mission with every passing donation
J !
