We are looking for volunteers for a one-time activity - verifying beneficiaries. What does that mean?
Well, as you my know, after a donor makes a donation through GiveIndia, s/he receives a feedback report that describes the person who benefited from their kindness. While we have a great deal of faith in our NGOs, as part of our efforts to increase transparency and credibility, GiveIndia wants to make sure that these beneficiaries really exist and have received the benefits that the report mentions. Hence we conduct these verification visits to NGOs. Our last request for volunteers had met with tremendous success and we hope its the same this time as well. :-)

- Coimbatore

- Madurai
- Dindigul
- Salem
- Tirunelveli
So, if you live in any of these cities/towns and have a few hours to spare, please read on. Or if you have dear friends in these cities who you think can help do make them aware of this requirement.
This one-time task involves:
1. Visiting 2 specific beneficiaries identified by GiveIndia at an NGO location which may include a centre or a school or a beneficiary's home.
2. Verifying that the beneficiary exists and that s/he has received the benefits as described in the feedback. GiveIndia will support the volunteer with all the information that is required for her/him to make this visit.
3. The visit has to be a 'surprise' visit - the beneficiary/NGO will NOT know the exact time of the visit.
4. You will need to send us a report based on a template we give you.
5. The duration of this exercise is actually limited to verifying information as described in the feedback and nothing else.
6. The organisation is not in a position to reimburse you any expenses.
If this is something that interests you, please write to sangeetha@giveindia.org or feedback@giveindia.org for more information.
We have already visited nearly 50 NGOs and have all the verification visit reports updated on our website. You will also read some of the comments by the volunteers on their experiences during the visit. We even wrote about one such experience on this very blog. Do feel free to share your experiences as well and the best ones will be documented here on our blog.
