Will you help GiveIndia win $25000?

You can if you have a minute to spare and are on Facebook -- the world's hottest social networking site!

The Chase Community Giving program is giving away $5 million to various charities through a community approach to giving on Facebook. All you need to do is vote for your favourite charity and the top 100 charities with the most votes by Dec 11th will win $25,000 and be in the running for the top prize of $1MM!!!

If GiveIndia wins, we will use this money to increase the treasure chest for our next
India Giving Challenge (which this year gave away more than Rs. 50 lacs ~USD 100,000 in matching grants to the winners of the challenge).

So what do you need to do (please use Internet Explorer - this does not work on Google Chrome)

1. Click
here to be taken to the GiveIndia page and vote for Give Foundation Inc (i.e. GiveIndia's registered entity in the US). If you don't land on this page then go to here instead and search for "Give Foundation Inc." and then vote. You will be able to see all those who have voted thus far. Before you vote, you need to become a FAN of Chase Community Giving which you can do by clicking on the Become a Fan button above the Vote Now button.

2. Once you've voted, go to the end of the page and spread the word around with all the sharing options given there. i.e.
- Tweet about it if you have an active Twitter account
- Post it to your Wall on Facebook so that all your friends and family can see it.
- Invite all your friends to vote
- If you have a website, do host the Community Giving Badge as well

We are putting ourselves a tough target of 10,000 votes. Its a challenging target but definitely attainable so do help us get there by voting and more importantly spreading the word about it. Remember the last date is December 11 so do get going!

We wish there was some kind of a leaderboard to spur us on but let that not be the reason why you don't vote or get everyone you know to vote. It certainly cannot get simpler than this!

We are also looking for a volunteer/team to drive this initiative and help us get to our target. Do let us know if you find this interesting, if you are a star at Web 2.0 or simply someone who has faith that the target is doable and will go all out and reach out and make this happen. We would love to hear from you.
